Last Saturday we celebrated the traditional Utrecht Pride Parade that crosses along the Oudegracht. The center of Utrecht was filled with good vibes, bursts of colors, festive music, and, most importantly, inclusiveness and acceptance. The celebration we held at the academy was one of the most iconic moments at Bom-B Music this year. We couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the whole event. From the DJ sets, the shared food and drinks, to the improvised jam session, the Utrecht Pride at Bom-B Music Studio was a blast!
The most “bailongos” without a doubt
At about 12 PM the streets were already quite crowded. Luckily, to access our area there was restricted access for guests, so we had enough space to be comfortable and be able to move around without problem. It was the ideal moment to animate the atmosphere before the parade began. Ayla started with her DJ set playing some Madonna or ABBA classics mixed with house beats and melodic techno. Before the arrival of the parade, Alberto began his set, including more electronic and percussive songs. The party was in full swing and we were the ones with the best vibes in the zone. The highlight came when Jonny started playing drums accompanying the music and Osito took his conga to bring a Latin vibe to the set. More people joined the improvised jam session playing some little percussion instruments such as maracas, cowbell and singing.
Once the first boats arrived, we lowered the volume of the music and paid attention to each passing group. It is very inspiring to see so many people enjoying a party for all audiences and with such an important message nowadays. Alberto’s DJ set continued for a while longer at the end of the parade and little by little we relaxed the BPMs to close the celebration.
Big thanks to our community
Every day we are more surprised by what we are creating and how there are people who are always willing to help us in everything we organize. We sincerely thank all of you who trust us because you make our project meaningful. In the end, our mission with Bom-B Music is to develop an international artistic community in Utrecht. We seek that everyone who aligns with our concept and values will find like-minded people here. Also, special mention to Molote for the rice with chorizo that he cooked for the event. This is how we like to celebrate!
The Utrecht Pride celebration was a true testament to the importance of acceptance, love, and music. It served as a reminder that the Pride is not just a single day or event, but a time to embrace diversity, challenge prejudice, and honor the fundamental rights and freedoms of all individuals.
We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to making this event a success. Next year we will celebrate again in a big way and who knows, maybe one day we could be one of the participating boats. An aftermovie will follow soon 🙂
