Bom-B Young Musicians
gives children aged 4–9 the musical foundation that makes everything after it easier and more joyful. The first step is a intro session, a chance for us to get to know each other.

Meet your teacher: Albert Barrachina
Albert leads Bom-B Young Musicians. He trained as a classical violinist at HKU Utrecht (Bachelor, 2025) and has taught music in real Utrecht classrooms — group lessons at Dalton Basisschool Puntenburg, workshops at Taalschool and Instituto Cervantes Utrecht.
In Young Musicians, no instruments yet. Albert teaches rhythm, listening and composition through games he designs himself for ages 4–9. One of them — Ensalada de Colores — turns coloured geometric shapes into rhythms the children invent themselves, so they’re composing on day one instead of decoding sheet music.

Sessions are run in English and Dutch. Supported by music, movement and visual cues, so every child can take part regardless of language.
What is the intro session?
This is a first musical experience for children joining Bom-B Young Musicians at Bom-B Music in September.
During the session, your child takes part in a playful, guided group experience. You and your child also get to know Bom-B Music, our atmosphere and the way we work. At the same time, we see how your child responds to rhythm, listening, creativity, joining in and playing with others so we can place each child in the most suitable Bom-B Young Musicians group for the semester.
This session is not the semester programme itself, but the first step towards it.
Feeling music in the body before any instrument is involved.
Learning to distinguish sounds, follow melodies, and respond to what’s around them.
Taking turns, holding their part, and playing alongside others without pressure.
The inner clock that makes playing together feel natural.
High and low, loud and soft — children who can describe what they hear become more expressive musicians.
The body is the first instrument. Comfort in movement carries into everything that comes after.

A full semester is 19 lessons for €380. Enrol within 7 days of your child’s kennismaking and the early-bird price of €380 applies instead of €410. Enrolment only opens after the kennismaking — not before.
No. In the form, you choose your preferred assessment day. We then create the groups and email you the exact time within 24–48 hours.
Not at all. The session is also suitable for children who are completely new to music.
Albert leads sessions in English and Dutch. Because so much of Young Musicians happens through music, movement and visual games, children take part fully regardless of which language they speak at home. Parents are welcome to ask questions in either language.
You receive a short personal observation, our recommendation and the enrolment option for the most suitable Bom-B Young Musicians group. The early-bird price is valid for 7 days after the kennismaking.

After Young Musicians: the whole musical path under one roof
When your child is ready to move on from Young Musicians, they can stay at Bom-B and grow with us: private lessons on piano, violin, cello or brass. Later they can join the Bom-B Brass Ensemble, the soon-to-be-created String Orchestra, our Band Course, the Community Choir, the Jam Collective or the Music Production Lab.
