Breathing Practice: We’ll start each lesson with breathing exercises to warm up your body and prepare you for playing. These exercises will last approximately five minutes.

Goal-oriented Approach: We’ll focus on your specific objectives during each session. Whether it’s improving your high register, exploring different scales for improvisation, or diving deep into a new genre, we’ll address your musical aspirations. Areas of study may include reading music, ear training, phrasing, music theory, buzzing and embouchure position, articulations (legato, staccato, accents), dynamics, and more.

Moments of Relaxation and Creativity: The final minutes of your lesson will provide an opportunity to unwind. We can get creative, play tunes together, improvise, or engage in discussions about musicality, art, creativity, technique, theory, or the music industry.

Alberto Pérez, the eclectic brass player based in Utrecht

I am a brass performer and teacher with over 15 years of experience in classical and modern music ensembles. Throughout my career, I have attended numerous masterclasses and had the privilege of performing at various professional experiences, such as Tomorrowland, an avant-garde music festival in Malta, and playing symphonic masterpieces with orchestras in Spain and the Netherlands.

I hold a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in music performance, as well as a master’s degree in music education from my studies in Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands. Nowadays, you can find me teaching brass in the Utrecht area, composing and producing my own music at the studio, playing tuba with a symphonic orchestra, trombone in a reggae band, or improvising trumpet over a techno track.
